Wildlife Across the World’s Habitats

Understanding biomes is key to knowing when and where different game species thrive. Each biome supports unique wildlife communities, shaped by climate, vegetation, and seasonal changes.

Tundra

A treeless, windswept landscape where summers are short and winters long. Home to species like reindeer, Arctic hare, and migratory birds that nest during brief warm months.

Taiga (Boreal Forest)

Dense conifer forests with cold winters and mild summers. Moose, elk, bears, and capercaillie are common here, alongside fur-bearing animals like sable and marten.

Temperate Forest

Deciduous and mixed forests with four distinct seasons. Rich habitat for deer, wild boar, game birds, and a wide variety of small game.

Grasslands & Steppes

Open plains and rolling hills, ideal for species like bustards, quail, hares, and grazing big game. Seasonal migrations are common.

Deserts & Semi-Deserts

Arid regions with extreme temperatures. Home to resilient species such as sandgrouse, desert fox, and certain migratory waterfowl during seasonal rains.

Wetlands

Marshes, river deltas, and floodplains teeming with waterfowl, beavers, muskrats, and amphibians. Critical stopovers for migratory birds.

Mountains

High elevations with varied climates. Ibex, chamois, and mountain game birds thrive in rugged terrain, while valleys shelter deer and smaller species.
